Sad Day: The end of bareMinerals at Nordstrom and reflections on what I’ve learned.

After over a year as the Account Coordinator and Senior Artist with bareMinerals at Nordstrom and an Artist in the Seattle Area for over 3 years, the doors have finally shut and my job has come to an end.

In the past three years, I have had the most amazing experiences that I will carry with me for years to come.

I have been able to teach a Master Class.

I have been able to learn from the Global Artist – Bravon Pascua and work with him on several events.

I have been able to attend Train the Trainer in San Diego with Bare Escentuals.

I have taken tons and tons of corporate classes at Nordstrom.

I got to speak at a Nordstrom Wake up Pretty Party.

I was a featured Artist for several events.

I was able to roll into stores and hand out gratis – which makes you a little like a super hero in the cosmetics department.

I was able to do stay and play trainings at all 6 of my doors.

I got to fight for my brand like no one had every fought for them before within the Nordstrom doors!

I got to speak at BASIC training for new bareMinerals Beauty Advisors.

I met the most amazing people.

I learned a lot about myself – who I was and what I wanted and didn’t want.

I wouldn’t have had half of those experiences if someone didn’t believe in me, take a chance on me and give me the opportunity to learn and make the brand better.  Monami Allen, Theresa Fracamacaro and Julie Haller-Smith all saw something and decided to take that chance.

Tonight, they are taking down all the counters.  It makes me sad and I have a little lump in my throat.  Will I ever love a brand as much as I did with bareMinerals?  It is kind of like a divorce in my heart, but I have learned so much and I would not have traded the last 3 years for anything.

For all you die hard fans out there, not to worry - Nordstrom will still carry the brand online.

I feel free to write a little more on the blog now, so watch out – good things are to come!
